Re: So Cold!
Thanks for answering Movlin! The reason I ask here under the menopause section is I have been reading about others who experience cold flashes due to peri-menopause. They describe it exactly as I experience. My periods have diminished to almost nothing. I'm sure it won't be long before I start skipp...

So Cold!
Hi everyone! I know it's typical to have hot flashes during both or either perimenopause and menopause, but I don't think I'm one of those people who get them. In fact, I get cold flashes, where my core body temperature is way down right to my bones. Sometimes a hot shower will help, but not all the...

Re: Low acid diet and vinegar infusions
I have learnt that what constitutes as acidic as we see it outside the body does not mean it's an 'acidic food'. What makes a food acidic, is more what happens when it enters the body. There are some foods like lemon juice and acv that actually turn alkaline within the body. I don't have a complete ...

Re: palpitations
Interesting you mention food triggering them, Lady A. I recently made some home made egg noodles with semolina for the first time. I wasn't sure the first time it set them off, but then I tried eating some on purpose to see if it was indeed them, and sure enough, it was! Heart palpitations were one ...

Maybe you need to venture out a little further into the bush there, ItalianBee. Or you can try growing your own! The trouble is that where I live there's nowhere that's not public and I just don't have quite that much chutzpah - . But I am thinking that I will ask my niece to gather seeds fo...

Re: Drying Burdock Root
Maybe you need to venture out a little further into the bush there, ItalianBee. Or you can try growing your own! I am currently discussing the easiest way to grow burdock on a balcony with a friend. She had mentioned people putting plates around the roots to make them easier to harvest, and that mad...

Hey there Coffeecup! Carrying around a small satchel of peppermint and lavender for you to smell could be helpful for you. Have you every looked into Bach flower essences? They can be mixed with medication. If you decide to try to reduce or come off your medication again.... I have helped a few clie...

Re: Ugh. Yeast Infection?
Many, many years ago a friend told me something a very old woman told her to do. What she said was, to put a half a box of seasalt in a bath of very hot water, as hot as you can handle and only just over your pelvis. The next step is to sit in it and begin your kegal exercises, slurping that salt wa...

Re: Drying Burdock Root
The stripping seems to be the traditional Japanese way to dry it. Then it's either bake it at a low heat (dehydrating heat i.e. 140˚F) or pan fry it dry for 10 minutes. This process seems to get that last bit of moisture out, as a preventative from mould, and also kills any bugs that might still be ...
