If the leaves of the plant had been visible from my window, I probably would have put two and two together immediately. It took a couple days before it dawned on me. "Ah... Yucca..." 
Another interesting point is that it seemed to appear out of thin air! I go walking back there quite often just to see what's growing and that was the first time I'd seen those white flowers.So! All this to say this is the 3rd time a plant has introduced ITSELF to ME. instead of the other way around. The first being Mullein, the second being Cleavers. well, and false Solomon's seal. )All I know about Yucca so far is that it is known for its saponins, you can weave baskets out of it, you can use the root for joint pain, it has laxative qualities... And the flowers are edible.
The first thing I *feel* like doing with it is sudsing it up and washing myself with it. This leads me to believe that it is a cleansing plant. The thing that stands out the most to me are its beautiful flowers! I also enjoyed reading about the Yucca moth who is kind of Yucca's "friend with benefits."
So I feel the need to get to know this plant better and I'd love to hear any stories/encounters you all have with this plant called Yucca!!
