After wisdom teeth extraction

Postby RoseRed » Wed Jul 11, 2012 8:55 am

Any ideas on what could be helpful. My daughter is so swollen and in such agony. There's got to be more that I can do to help her.

What meds, if any, is she taking?

How long since the extraction?
It's all good (except for the crappy bits).

I recently had a wisdom tooth out, and took homeopathic arnica and hypericum 1m of each several times. I also put st johns work oil around the area a few days after the extraction. It healed up great. I remember craving green olives and it may have been the salt that I needed as it always soothed the area. Still it is uncomfortable. Hope she feels better soon.

She had them out Monday.

Meds:
anti-biotic to prevent infection
dolobid - major nsaid
hydrocone

ice - 1st 2 days
heat - since
(she grabbed the ice this morning - said it works better)

The doc had her on oxycodone and all it did was make her dizzy. She's had much better pain relief since we switched her over.

She's soooooo swollen and miserable. I know it takes time for the body to heal. I just hate to see my baby suffer.

How is she doing Rose? I did think that a week was very long to still be in so much pain, but maybe it depends on how the teeth were extracted.

The homeopathics and sjw oil would be things I would do too.

She's doing soooooooo much better. Thanx so much for asking. With so much going on I had forgotten to update this thread.

She just needed time. Almost all of the swelling is gone. She can open her mouth now and she's starting to be able to chew without a lot of pain. We went in the other day to have the last of her stitches removed and they were very happy with her progress.

That's so good. It's always hard to remember that pain passes with these kinds of things. And dental pain is a particular kind of suffering I think.
