I am looking to borrow ANY books on herbcraft!

Postby Harpy » Fri Jun 15, 2012 4:38 pm

Hello, I am interested in borrowing any books you have on herbcraft, herbal medicine, and especially green witchcraft.
Let me know what you have and would be willing to let me borrow!
I would be willing to pay for at least half of the shipping (Both ways, so we both pay an equal amount), or even all of it depending on the book.

Thank you, and green blessings!

Alright! Here's a list of books that you might be interested in. I put stars by the ones that I really like and have found useful. I'll pay to ship them to you and you can pay to ship them back to me when you're done, how's that sound? I'll give you an estimate on the shipping cost before I ship to you... so you don't have to make a commitment if it's too costly.

If there's any you think you would like to borrow just send me a private message with the address where you want them shipped.

Herbal Medicine Books
The Green Pharmacy by James Duke -- basically like an encyclopedia listing of conditions and the herbs used to treat them. Good for reference.
The Way of Herbs by Mechael Tierra
Culpeper's Color Herbal -- Taken from the work of 16th century herbalist, Nicholas Culpeper.
A Modern Herbal: Volume 2, I-Z by Mrs. M. Grieve-- This is a classic reference book. Good for researching but I only have volume 2.
*Family Herbal by Rosemary Gladstar-- Simple and informative. She also has the best recipe for moisturizing cream ever!
Tree Medicine Tree Magicby Ellen Evert Hopman-- Medicinal and magical uses of trees along with some of their mythology and folklore.
*Growing 101 Herbs That Heal: gardening techniques, recipes, and remedies by Tammie Hartung-- good if you're wanting to grow herbs because it has information about growing each specific plant. I've looked through it so much it's falling apart, but still readable.
A Field Guide to Medicinal Plants by Arnold and Connie Krochmal-- This isn't that great of a field guide, but it's the only one I have and can be helpful sometimes.

Spiritual
Mecicine Grove: A Shamanic Herbal by Loren Cruden-- A good book. It's practical and down to earth, also has information about uses of individual plants.
*Plant Spirit Healing: A Guide to Working with Plant Consciousness by Pam Montgomery-- This is one of the books I read over and over. Very good!
*Partner Earth: Restoring Our Sacred Relationship with Nature by Pam Montgomery
Plant Spirit Shamanism: Traditional Techniques for Healing the Soul by Ross Heaven and Howard Charing
*Gaia Eros: Reconnecting to the Magic and Spirit of Nature by Jesse Wolf Hardin
*The Secret Teachings of Plants: The intelligence of the heart in the direct perception of nature-- One of my favorite books and writers of all time. It's not light reading, so be prepared, but it will blow your mind.
Plant Spirit Medicine by Eliot Cowan
Magical Herbalism: The Secret Craft of the Wise by Scott Cunningham-- In my opinion this book doesn't have a lot of soul, but it's still really nice for inspiration to get you started and it has pretty illustrations.
*The Earth Path: Grounding Your Spirit in the Rhythmes of Nature by Starhawk-- I highly recommend this book. It's very inspiring and basically like a workbook with meditations, rituals, and exercises to really get you connecting with your environment. This lady means what she says.

Just letting you know that I haven't forgotten about the books! I'm hoping to get to the post office by the end of this week. You can send me a personal message with the address you want me to ship them to, and I'll let you know what shipping costs before I send them.
