QAL and digestive issues

Postby charlene » Wed Jul 21, 2010 1:48 pm

I have begun using wild carrot as a "morning after" contraceptive as recommended by Robin Rose Bennett (as a backup with condoms, as I'm still "coming off" of Depo-provera, though my cycles are now beginning to look "normal" again). I'm using the flower tea right now, because the seeds are not yet ripe where I live. However, I've noticed that each time I drink more than a single cup of the tea in a couple of days, I get terribly constipated. Has anyone else using wild carrot run into similar issues? Does your body respond differently to the seeds than to the flowers? To tea and tincture? Does the phase of the moon and/or time of day when the flowers or seeds were harvested make a difference to you? I mean to try different things myself, especially once the seeds ripen and I can harvest and tincture them, but in the meantime I'd like to know if this is something other women have experienced and how they dealt with it.

I did notice that one of the women Robin Rose Bennett talked to had used QAL as a diuretic, though I haven't particularly noticed this effect in myself. Perhaps I need to take it with a LOT of water?

Any ideas or experiences you're willing to share would be a help to me; thanks!
