In light of a recent incident in my life over a mistake I made in forwarding a writing. I find that this teaching is in need of speaking again. I have stood in my own truth on this matter but will forever more wonder who took this out of content without seeking the truth and caused some damage. We never welcome Bone Carriers to our fire as they in turn will carry bones of discontent to other fires and spread the energy of hate and discontent. Do not be a Bone Carrier be a person of Truth and Honor. Do not gossip or spread what you do not fully understand, before you speak, think of the power words have. Once words are spoken they are in the wind and can cause horrible damage.
It brings new meaning in the words Stand In Your Own Truth. if you have a problem with another then go to them and speak your truth. Speak in a good way until you have found out the truth behind the accusations. Remember once said the words are out there never to be taken back. As for me after many times of forgiving and opening my door to this spider I now close it forever.
Do not jump on the webb of life and create a whole series of involvments until you have cleared the problem up or taken it to a higher elder to speak too. In the highest of blessings Maka Nupa L Cota
Spinners and Weavers
The threads of time are interwoven in our fabric which we call the tapistry of life. Each strand a thought or a memory that helps us to find our way back to our center.
As I sit in the garden watching Grandmother Spider weave her web this story of the Spider Medicine is brought to me again.
Many times I have been woven into a web and found myself stranded and trapped. Like the Wolf I had to use my own medicine to break free. Still an invisible thread is there to remind me to not go in that place again.
Being humans we all forget or miss place the threads of thought and memory until the next time we are pulled in, and woven into a tight cocoon. I think the more trusting and giving we are, the more we are drawn to this sort of lesson in our lives. I have to live the life of my people, and yet be aware that the spider web may be pretty; but it is made of very sticky strands.
Grandmother said there are two kinds of spiders, some are the spinners and some the weavers. Spinners will entice you into the web and wrap you up for later or just drain you dry and discard you.
These people are using spider medicine, they spend their days plotting and spinning to get their way by manipulating others. Grandmother said there are the people who live from there hearts, and those people who live from there minds. These mind people are the people who never come in contact with there inner truth. They constantly throw out webs and entangle others to blame, or to use, some call them energy suckers or "Windago", soul stealers.
Most do not see it as a conscious action, because it is their way of life, and for them a way of survival. This method has become the natural way they live and get from one place to another. They use this method just as a spider throws out the web to use as a way of travel. The effort is always from the mind, and one of self need and self fulfillment.
Many things motivate them, such as jealousy, the need to be recognized "ego" or the need to be the center of attention, "fame". All of this is done at the expense of others with never a look back to see the destruction that their actions have created.
The Spinner Spider is always feeding an inner need, one that will never really be satisfied.
Their tricks are many and one is to play the classic victim to many to draw you into their space. After you have stepped into that space your are expected to fill their inner needs. Guilt is applied to the person being drained, the expectation of not being enough, or good enough continues the process. There is always a empty need to fill and we are humans after all with compassion, so we will try to fill this need.
The game begins with the giver feeding the spiders endless chains, of drained and discarded souls.
I ask Grandmother, "how can you know when this is happening as the spiders web is so beautiful and shinny?" "You have taught me to love all things on this our Earth Mother." Grandmother answered, "some are lessons, others gifts, that will be for you to see and learn."
The wisdom of our Elders is with us always, in my life many times I have been held captive and drained of precious energy as we all have. I am still me, and getting wiser for the lessons and the experience that it has brought.
The one thing I have learned, is that you help until it becomes a demand on your dignity. You give until it becomes a question of your integrity. You support until it threatens your own stability.
You share until you question your own soul and begin to self doubt. The Skin Walker will walk into your skin and seek to posses your soul and take over your life out of jealousy and need. The ego is a strange and awesome thing, it can create a persons own destruction if used in the wrong way.
As I see my own roll in these many lessons, I then remember my Grandmother saying, "when you have learned many lessons you will some day be a weaver". Nothing is learned without lessons, this is the growth of our spirits. Emotional pain is the power that motivates the lesson, " do not repeat this again."
The Weaver is the medicine person that will create a strand for others to follow. Grandmother Spider who weaves the web of the dream is a weaver of people. She weaves us into the fabric of life, each one of us a strand in the web. Each of us responsible for the strand that we hold in our hands. It is through this strand that all things flow and all things are given to us in our spiritual paths. This strand of the web connects us to our center or our place of being.
I turn my eyes to the gray spider in the web before me and watch as strand by strand she connects the spokes of her wheel. Going clock wise she increases her web to the size she wishes.
It is then that I realize we need both spinners and weavers to teach us. I wonder at the Grand Father sun touching this web of beauty with rainbows of light. In this creation I will learn to walk in balance with my sisters and bothers. Thank you Grandmother Spider for your teachings.
The dream world is from the weaver of our lives, it gives us the way to find the future by dreaming it into reality. The creative energy of all that is light and wholeness, is born in this space. When we dream for the good of all, then we are truly creating the weavers way for all to follow.
I connect with you on the web of life, we stand together in this time, strong and united.
Let us all be the weaver of dreams and continue the healing of our minds, bodies, spirits and souls, for the seven generations to come.

Sky Bundle
There is a physical connection to our mothers and an invisible one to Mother Earth.
When we are born we are connected to our mothers by
the birth cord. At birth the cord is saved anddried for us to carry all of our lives. When we are babies it is kept on our cradle boards in a small beaded bag. Many of these
are shaped like turtles and other animals or creatchers. This it to fool
the spirits that may wish to take a child back to the spirit
world. The placenta is buried under a tree, or in these times, many plant
a new tree and place the placenta under the tree.
This connects us to a growing and strong life here on this Earth. The
tree is said to hold life and strength for the child as long as he or she lives.
When I go home I seek out my tree to see if it is still alive, I make a offering of tobacco and corn meal in honor of relations. The connection to the spirit world is through our
invisible birth cords. Just as we connect to the physical things here on Earth,
we also have a connection to Creator or the Great Mystery. As we walk here on Earth we gather and build our Earth Bundles. These bundles may contain many things that have meaning or are a sources of strength to us. While we are living we use these bundles to pray with for healing, and spiritual guidance. When we
pass from this world onto the next, we must leave the bundle behind. It is important that you have some one here to hold that bundle and continue with the work you started. This
bundle then is your thread of life that hold your connection on Earth when you return to the Great Mystery. Like threads these spiritual paths are in the invisible world. Millions of these silk like threads connect to us all from Sky to Earth create a tapestry of many colors. Each thread is different in many ways, yet all connect the two worlds. We also have a Sky Bundle that is kept when we travel to this physical plane to work and to learn. All the while we gather our bundle here on Earth, Creator holds our Sky Bundle safe and strong for our return.
You may look upon your Earth journey as a vision quest from the Spirit world to the physical one. The stars in the heavens are our council fires held until we return from
this long vision.
When we are seeking guidance here on this Earth we go on a vision quest and seek our spirit helpers. This is a ceremony that we prepare for by fasting and prayers in the Inipi. During the vision quest we leave our bundles with the person who will
keep our fire and lodge while we are gone.. This assures us that we will be able to find our way back from the spirit world.
Between these two bundles we travel from death to life and from life to death. The thread or cord is always there to hold and us and to guide us.
A strong bundle here on Earth is carried on generation after generation, the work never stops. The continuation of the vision is always being worked with and added to by the
keepers of the bundle.
In the sky world we return to continue the work for our relations on the Earth this also is a continuation of prayer and healing.
All is connected by the many threads of our relation both here and in spirit. Some people lose their way, and the bundles are disrespected. The sacred vision of life is not
being shared with the children, and in time the Sky Bundles will become weak. The
paths between the Spirit world and the Earth world will be all but gone. It is in this time many will lose their way and walk as Chee Chee (stick people) here on this Earth.
For those of you who are walking in a traditional way, no matter what faith you keep or believe, gather your bundles well. Tie them with red cord, and cover them in red cloth for
the time is coming when our children will need the prayers and healing they can give.
When we are gone and only our spirits are here to work we will still have a strong connection. We will be able to work with all our relation here on earth, as long as the bundles are respected. The birth cord never pulls away until death; even
then it becomes a silver thread in the sky. Blessings Maka Nupa LCota
