Migraines and Diet Connections

Most Migraine sufferers know that their triggers can be a food or several foods and sometimes our body will give us a warning that we need to back off or else we will get a Full-blown Migraine. Well.....
I've reached a point that I don't get that little tap on the shoulder anymore. Prior to 2012 I just about had my migraines under control, I was down to about two a year. Then Leukemia, Chemo and Anti-biotics-fungals-virals and now the battle to eliminate a migraine has returned.
I've eliminated the obvious, cheeses, peanuts, coffee, preserved meats...etc. still, I was having migraines 3-4 times a week so ALL soy left my plate (now that is hard because the food industry adds soy to nearly everything as either an oil, textured protein, lecithin...etc) Success!!! Or so I thought. Then this last Summer they returned and returned with a new twist, they cause me to tremble, have hot and cold flashes, stumble and stagger....something else has reared its ugly head!
I chatted with a couple of my TCM instructors and HISTAMINES ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Histamine ) and
TYRAMINES ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyramine ) were brought into the conversation. I sat down in front of my computer and researched and researched and found some very interesting information to begin the journey to a migraine-free life.
This is a pretty basic explanation https://www.webmd.com/migraines-headach ... igraines#1
http://blog.themigrainereliefcenter.com ... -migraines
this is also interesting https://www.allergy.org.au/patients/foo ... ntolerance

This is a 4-page list of allowed and NOT allowed foods.
https://migraine.com/wp-content/uploads ... ensive.pdf

So...I have printed out the 4 pages and I have highlighted those foods that I already know cause me difficulty...Hey, did you all know that Watermelon is considered by some to be a vegetable...yup, I even looked it up and sure enough Watermelon is a member of the gourd family...I learn something new every day! ha!

Through my recent research, I have come upon something else to consider in this Histamine/Tyramine conversation....Leaky Gut.
One of my Instructors stated that "All Dis-Ease begins in the stomach"...I think he's on to something there!

This links to a different way of combating Migraine, a different approach to understanding a migraine. This has me stymied as to why this explanation hasn't been shared before, it is so simple.

I found this site while researching Nitric Oxide Dump and Migraines.

Personally I may try some of the suggestions offered, very carefully of course because I don't want to make a migraine worse by vasodilation when I have always worked to stop dilation.

Leaky Gut/Tyramine/Histamine Migraine/Fibromyalgia connection research has dug this awesome article...This is by Dr. Jake Fratkin, a Doctor of Oriental Medicine. This article is written in such a way it's easy to understand...

I just sent off an email to my Functional Medicine Dr., asking her what she thinks about my migraines and fibromyalgia (post-chemotherapy fibro) being perhaps just the branches of a deeper issue, the Root of the issue.... Leaky Gut.
