It's been a long time since I've had any daytime hotflashes...I can't even remember now. Seems that as soon as I just gave up fighting them...well, they gave up fighting me. Of course, I should probably hold my tongue....like Donna discovered (who started this thread waaaaaay back in the day!) it's probably best not to brag!

Night sweats, they're still with me. Whether they're gentler or I'm just relaxing more gently into them, it's hard to say. I just let em come, they wake me up enough to make the necessary blanket adjustments BUT my night's sleep isn't trashed any longer.

Credit where credit is due: XOXO to Cory Su and Crystal Woman for making an OUTSTANDING call on peridot for night sweats and other perimenopausal surges! =D>

I sleep with a piece of it every single night, place it on my sternum at about CV 17 level. Kind of like with the blanket adjustments...if it slips off, I kinda feel around in a half-wakened state till I find it again...back it goes on my chest.......lovely, lovely, hard working little stone!

Thank you Moonflower for sharing your experience ....I get night sweats on occasion....... oatstraw and motherwort has helped me tremendously...but I am interested in trying the stone...what do you do just lay it on your chest? I usually sleep on my side....

Yes, just lay it on my chest. CV 17 is a Chinese acupressure point located approx. 3 thumbwidths up from the tip of the breastbone. I start out on my back but always sleep on my side, and have enough cleavage that the peridot just nestles between my breasts.

If you haven't seen Cory Su's website, check it out (you can find it in the bazaar). It may be easier to wear one of her necklaces..she makes some really awesome medicine pieces, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I just don't like wearing necklaces to sleep in, though I did when things were really rough. Plus slept with the peridot point (roughly thumbnail size), PLUS kept a peridot cluster in matrix on the nightstand about a foot from my head!

I do wear the peridot and pearl necklace I got from Cory during the day, but not so much lately. I've noticed what seems to be a cumulative effect from the crystal. Very nice!

Every night before bed, I mix a nice little nightcap of motherwort, dandelion and St J's in a glass of water with a splash of ACV. Also drink nettles infusion daily, oatstraw regularly though not as often.

That's my regimen, and it was the peridot that really helped me turn the corner! :D

Thanks so much for sharing about your experience Ms. Moonflower. You know that was my friend Bernadette of Daytona who tipped me off on the peridot for menopause though... The fact that this stone correpsonds with the minor chakra pointed out my Crystal Woman which is also an Acupoint that regulates Yin makes it all the sweeter thought. The most interesting thing is that the effects seem to be so immediate. Not a cumulative effect as I would have thought.. like notice after a few days of wear. I am told the necklace comes off for a few days and the symptoms return.

I made another peridot necklace as a gift for one of the weedies here who was having the hotflashes and she has had great success also. Hot flash and night sweats gone. I think she is off the herbs she was taking for this, but I know whiles she was taking them she still had was having the flashes and night sweating. I think it was clover she was trying. Maybe she will come share. I do have review in my store by her and Ms. Moonflower.

I am coming to the point with this peridot that I feel like making $ back guarantee after a trial period if that is possible to do safely online. I don't know if that is wise or not. Just very interested to see more and more experience with this stone.

The effects of the peridot were immediate for me, and became progressively more beneficial as I continued to wear/expose myself to it. Eventually I reached a saturation point and was able to decrease my useage of BOTH herbal and crystal remedies.

On experimenting, I found I could cut back more on herbal remedies than I could cut back using the peridot. Which leads me to believe that the peridot was the defining factor to me reclaiming my nights.

Guess now I'm on my maintenance *dose*

I'm glad you have enough feedback and confidence in your peridot pieces to consider making a guarantee. That's awesome!

After reading the Cory su Peridot stories, I bought some peridot earrings. Small ones that I could wear all day and wear while sleeping.
I started to wear the earrings in the middle of Feburary and I haven't had one hot flash.
It's working.

Thanks,
Cory su

:) mmm...indead the herbs i took where Red Clover,

Hi Cory and all,

I'm sorry i didn't saw these posts earliër,but indead Cory has send me a Peridot necklace at the beginning of December last year 2005.I see i'm not the only one who is impressed by the Peridot necklace...

It's indeed very interesting Cory how this neclace helps whit the hotflashes aswell with the night swettings...

Cory has sended me a Peridot necklace beginning december 2005.I was having hothflashes and nighswettings for allready about a year or two.It can make you realy tired because it desturbes your dayritme and your nightritme.
When Cory shared that she was working on the Peridot i was interested if it would/could help whit the hotflashes and the nighswettings (my dutch sceptical mind you know)I went to Cory's site and saw the reaction from Teri on the forum. That gave me some hope that Peridot could help.

I weared the necklace directly on the skin. The first two day's i didn't noticed anything. But from the third day after beginning to wearing the necklace i began to notice that aswell the hotflashes as the nightswettings became less. After the first week no swettings and hotflashes.Second week after beginning to wear the necklace idem...nothing...Third week after i've received the necklace i had this feeling...'Could it be my own imagination? Maybe wishfull thinking?' I actually couldn't imagine that a 'simple' necklace could help whit a thing like those hotflashes and nightswettings in which you feel as if you where comming from big mama Vulcano...duh...So i took the necklace off and told Cory that i wanted to be sure...
Yeah...right...Whitin two day's the nightswettings went back...including two horrable nightmares...Only the hotflashes didn't came...But those swettings and nightmares yek...So,putted on the necklace (still my dutch scepsis in the head) and waited...Two day's later,no swettings,no nightmares and sleeping like a baby...

Now it's april 2006.I'm only wearing the Peridot necklace when the hotflashes and/or the swettings comes back...

This is actually very interesting Cory, because i've learned that Peridot is a Vulcanic maded stone?
CW please i would véry appriciated if you would correct me in this if i'm wrong...

I also learned that Peridot helps with building a Savety Shield...

I also learned that fear and angre can trigger hotflashes/nightswettings/nightmares...According to what i've found on Peridot...Only i realy would appricitate Crystal Womans opinion about this. She knows much more about this then i do,

Cory, you're indead making the jewelry the way you wanted it from the beginning,

((hugs)) and thank you Beauty for the Healing Art you love to share whit us,

Rina :)

((hugs rina)) Thanks for being such a good tester Rina. I appreciate that. I have your 2nd tester piece on the way. xoxo

Thanks moon & stars for giving your feedback. I"m happy to know that it only took a small amount of of peridot to do the job. Now I'm making pendants so I hope that more people can get some and not feel nervous to spend a little to try out such a crazy idea as periot.

 dutchies are known for they're sceptical way of thinking ;)

Maybe it's the reason we don't allways are feeling enthousiastic or jumped about things. It's allso a 'savety belt' i guess our people have,it's our Dutch character.

I have another necklace too from you Cory. The Pearl necklace...i've newer doubted that it would work and my experience is that it works...

it only take sometimes a little time to trust ;) but when you do you'll find out it works,

;) :)

Just wanted to kick this one up again, as I have REJOINED the FlashBrigade yet again. I went for a long time without any, NOTHING was setting them off. Now they're BAAAAAAACK!!!

BUT DIFFERENT!!

Strangest thing. My present hot flashes are absolutely centered in my BACK! What??? I thought it was just because I now have a (gulp) Office Job where I SIT pretty much all day, but no matter where I am, it's my BACK threatening to go up in flames (I keep checking for dragon wings, but nothing YET) It's not ENTIRELY unpleasant, no drenching sweats or anything, but oddddddddd.

It IS great fun to be in an office filled with mostly younger women and ANNOUNCE when a POWER SURGE be comin'.....their faces are a hoot. (Of course I am being blamed for every blown phone and mis-behaving piece of computer equipment.... ) But for REAL. Just when you thought it couldn't get a whole lot STRANGER.......some hormonacoaster.....

good day, I thought I knew what hot flashes were. Now I am certain I know. They came with the hot weather and my bleeding has stopped for 3 months. I have air conditioning and still I flashed in waves for a few weeks. The hot flashes are still here yet I see there is timing. I have enjoyed and been encouraged to have these conversations available. I have learned through my visits here and it just does me good. astar

Ohhhh, I have been living with this for such a long time! But its especially been coming on strong for the last few months. I don't have any new herbal tips to offer, but I can tell you what I do (besides peeling off my clothes at a mad rate and standing under a fan). I use my free standing freezer. It used to be a place for frozen food and tucked away goodies, but not anymore. To the dismay of my family, its now where I keep my pillows. :) I usually don't go to bed hot - oh nooooo! That would be too easy. It usually happens when I wake up during the middle of the night. So after I accomplish Plan A - Peeling off my clothes and standing under the fan, I migrate on to Plan B and grab one of my deliciously COLD pillows from the freezer and ladies, it is such BLISS! I've even got my husband trained now. When he gets up at night to use the bathroom, he'll throw a cold pillow at me on his way back to bed.

COLD Blessings,

I don't know that I've messed up anything electrical, I'm pretty sure the light sockets that don't work were like that when I moved here. I know I should get those fixed from a feng shui point of view, but paying an electrician doesn't look reasonable now.

However, I am starting to notice a reverse effect with my hot flashes- I think the energy in a room may be what sets them off sometimes though they are also more likely right around my flow. There's a room at work where I only spend half the day now. I get flashes there, but not when I'm working in other buildings. This particular room is a feng shui nightmare.

I don't get them often at home, but I had a bad one tonight. I have been working on clearing my space physically and energetically and tonight I was doing the bedroom. Didn't think it had any major problems, but at a certain point in the mundane clean-up I got very tired and started having hot flash symptoms. Just figured I needed a supper break, went back to cleaning, but still felt draggy and hot and anxious. At this point I took some extra motherwort.

Then I got to the energetic clearing part, and there was something very sticky and stagnant in that corner where I had previously felt the need to stop for a break. I have no idea what. Could be from the previous occupant- I smudged everything when I first moved in , but I've learned more about clearing and feng shui since then, and it could be that corner needed more attention. Or it could have been something I brought in. Now that I'm done with the process, the house feels cool again. Hmmm.
