Nice reminder that Beltane's coming up Lady A. Thanks!

The teachers in my life have really been useful in my healing and opening up.

First Guru Maharaji, who taught me a meditational technique when I was 18. That's fundamental to my inner life- not bringing me into contact with fairies or anything fancy- but teaching me that feeling joy is the utimate magic.

Then my reiki teacher Rachel Wilmot, is an amazing lady who taught me how to interpret and control a little my psychic life.

And now Susun, sharing her wisdom.

Yoga too has been really great, but more for keeping my feet on the ground than anything else.... and of course my children who are at the moment my greatest teachers in the art of simpliciity, honesty and playfulness.

Thanking all those beings! Maybe you can ask the universe to show what you need to feel fulfilled?
Time is priceless... work for free

stephani jayne...

Just by deciding you want more spirit in your life you are opening the doors to exactly that, so good on you!
I feel that this is something that comes in waves throughout life, as practices deepen and shift.
Ritual can be as simple as lighting a candle. Infact I love candles and the different reality they create, so much softer than electric light and atmospheric. yep lighting a candle can be a great start. Incense too is a tool to create sacred space, as it wisps and curls into the corners of a space and scents and clears energy. Neither is expensive but both can help shift conciousness into a more meditative or trance state. Especially if your setting up an altar these two things can combine with that. Some nights I just light a candle at my altar and look carefully at what Ive chosen to place there and reconnect with it.I also love walks to find altar presents.
Arranging altars and spaces to reflect what you want to focus on can be a bit like a wish making collage. Gardens respond well to this energy too. Growing your own herbs n weeds is a great way to meditate on the earth and her bounty. You can use outdoor altars, place special stones with your plants or make an outside meditation / sitting spot. Nature is such great teacher...
Well, just a few thoughts, most important is the path that you will find opening up to suit your tangents!

Lady Alinor wrote:There are many ways to find time for the 'Spiritual'.
It can as simple as using a special soap in the shower! I have some very special Sandalwood soap that I use when I want to connect to the 'spirit'. I use it for cleansing on the Solstices, Equinox and the other 'Holy' days....Beltane for instance, I share the Sandalwood soap with my husband (I soap him up and he in turn soaps me up...WooHoo!)
Decorating the home for the Holy Days is a great way to involve the children (even the wee ones).
Listening to music while in the shower or while cleaning the house. I like Celtic music, Native American flute and drumming.
"Fairie Celts, A Woman's Voice" is a wonderful CD, it has several female artists.

Little things add up to make a whole spiritual life.

I love the ideas as I too am a busy mom looking to be more spiritual.
Thanks for the recommendations for the music as I love this type stuff but don't have any in the house and want to stock up. Any good NA music recs?

So this must be a former mormon reunion thread too, lol as I used to be one. I left the beginning of this year and my world has been turned upside down as I never really had to decided what I wanted in a worship or spiritual life.

My niece has been visiting us for about a month now and she's been wanting to learn about my spiritual path. We started with magical herbalism, candles and making and burning incense using, resins and herbs.
We've been using Scott Cunninghams books "Magical Herbalism" and "Incense, Oils and Brews", and "To Ride a Silver Broomstick" by Silver Ravenwolf (perfect for a teenager (so I was told)
There's a lot of crap going on at my nieces house, parents fighting, alcoholism, spousal abuse and the like and she wants to learn how to protect herself and her environment/room from all the bad energy building up. She feels that by building a Spiritual practice she will find the power to endure the hell for a couple more years until she turns eighteen.
I'm more than willing to assist her in getting started on her path.

Being spiritual is something that grows on a person and soaks into us and becomes such a part of us that we see no seperation from it and us and it enhances our lives in ways that we never dreamed of. Letting it guide us and enjoying the ride is an amazing experience. To me, this is True Richness. Spirituality helps me with depression and the struggles I face, it keeps me grounded and always brings me back from the depths of despair, though it may take awhile. Spirituality seems to be like a birthplace where we all came from and from which we shall all return.

Sincerely, Ariel :D
