So I'm very curious. I recently read to make sure you don't use black raspberry leaves.
I am wondering why and that makes me question.. I have a bunch of yellow raspberry canes out back, can I use their leaves?
I'd really like to start harvesting my own plants for infusions as even bulk herbs are pricey and infusions take so much plant!
Anyone know?

I've never heard that you should not use the black raspberry variety of leaves, but do know that they are more potent than those of the red or yellow raspberry varieties. So I don't think that you should not use them but perhaps it would be better to use lesser quantity or use them less frequently just because they are more potent. I think it depends on what you're planning on using them for. I see no reason why you shouldn't be able to use the leaves from your yellow raspberries the same way as you would for those of the red.

Thank you. You just re-afirmed what I had been thinking. I was more curious about the black raspberry - although I don't think I've ever even seen a black raspberry up close and personal!

i use black raspberry leaves almost exclusively, not for any particular reason beyond that is what grows in my back yard. i hope that eases any concern you might have.

I use black ones too, for nourishing infusions, since they're abundant. I don't notice a difference, but my style is to make infusions to taste, rather than measuring, so if they're stronger they'd get more water before consumption in my kitchen.

I have some black raspberries growing alongside the red around my house - I mistakenly thought they were blackberries the first year

- I'll get some snaps and post tonight if I can. They're fruiting right now (mm, I visit them daily, hehe), so it's a good time for a pic.
