I've had Susun's Menopause book for about 6 years now. Dog eared and worn from use. I finally ordered her New Menopause book, and ordered a second one as a gift for a friend. I gave it to her two weeks ago when we met for a rare weekend together.
Trisha has Fibro, and has been having a tough time with it. All the Docs seem to want to do is prescribe one drug after another, just to make the symptoms go away. She's also 53, and so of course is having some hot flashes and night sweats. (more drugs prescribed)
Well, I wanna tell you this woman took off running with this book and has yet to hit the ground! She read it cover to cover in a day and a half, and immediately started doing some of the meditations and gentle exercises. She called me just before embarking on a trip to the Herb store to discuss a HUGE list of things she felt she needed to try. Together we knocked her list down to a manageable level, mainly nourishing herbs for infusions, and a few suggestions to self-test at the store before buying.
No herbs in bulk form there, so she ordered from Jeans with the catalog I'd also given her. Her oat straw, nettle, and red clover arrived yesterday and she got strong YES answers on all three, and when she called me last night she was sipping on some oat straw infusion.
She's SO happy to have connected with Susun's wisdom through her writing, and has a goal of getting herself off all the meds and improving her health through the use of nourishing herbal infusions, meditation and exercise, and the wise use of tinctures when necessary.
She's armed with some good tools; Susun's book and LadyB's self-testing method. How can she go wrong?
Thanks Susun for your wisdom and guidance.
Blessings,
