Physical challenges

Postby gaias » Wed Jul 12, 2006 3:20 pm

One of the physical happenings which seemed to crop up
overnight was joint pain, and muscle/bone issues. I would
have never thought....makes me feel 80, but yoga helps
a lot, even if it is sometimes a challenge to start it. I hope
it is temporary!

Yeeesss!!! What a drag. That is about the only thing
that really does ache, now- particularly my right heel,
and worse in the morning when I am just getting walking,

where it seems like the bones in the entire foot are re-grouping,
and decreased rotation of ankle- I am working on this one
every day, including alternative hot and cold foot soaks,
the body-rolling therapy for feet, and, as of late- I am getting
my bike back on the back roads to help the ankle and get
some exercise which doesnt involve so much walking.

Also thinking of getting acupuncture- just can't sit back
and "do nothing" - I love to be active and feel good!

Interestingly near where my foot hurts is the reflexology
area for the uterus; in fact the heel area is reflexively related
to the pelvic area...

Well! And I thought my feet hurt as a simple extension of the battering my knees and ankles have taken over the years.
For about a year, starting in spring of 05 my feet HURT when I got up in the morning - I hobbled. But until I read this thread, I had not realised that they no longer hurt in the morning! Have no idea why - but perhaps this means that it WAS a temp peri-thing. That would be fine by me!

One thing I did do this summer, was get a new pillow. Went with down, and I never wake up with headaches anymore - and my back feels much better too.

My feet are always worse in the mornings too!!! You should see me hobbling around, then as I move they feel better, but still there's always that little ache. Oh the joys of peri  so many symptoms caused by those  hormones!!

Hello! Stinging nettle is suppose to help with muscles and spasms. I once had my feet hurt. I walked on the beach for a few days and it was gone, that was two years ago.

I have been reading a book about clay and healing, and have
tried clay poultices and clay footbaths, and it seems to be helping.
The book is very vague about types of clay; I have red, green
and white french and have tried red. The book seems to be
referring to dug up natural earth clay- I have plenty of gray clay
around for that, but right now to lazy to dig some up, but I have
had a helper
remove some from a garden plot so I can putter around
that pile... (he's like- wow this is pure clay!)
Maybe the alkaline clay helps draw out the acid buildup in tissues
and lessens inflammation- so far so good. The book mentions
sand, too (walking in it would be lovely!) in terms of immersing
your feet in somewhat heated up natural sand, for about half hour-
interested to try that, too.

am giving up on my own approaches and making both a
physician (podiatrist) and acupuncturist appointment. It has
been 2.5 decades since I have been to a medical doctor,
so, this decision is major, but I have a hunch it will help.

Try lemon balm tea/tincture.
Does anyone have a simple recipe for this?

I have the aches and pains and fatigue of perimenopause. Some days are worse than others. I've found that I'm sleeping more (and craving it more) than before. And on the weekends I nap at the drop of a hat. :D Exercise helps but sometimes it hurts enough that I'm discouraged from exercising. Pushing through it doesn't always work. I'm hoping all of this (except the napping-I like that) is temporary.
