Pi[4] Pa[1] Ye[4] Loquat Leaf Folium Eriobotryae Japonicae
Properties: bitter,cool/neutral
Channels entered:Lung, Stomach
Functions & Uses: Clears lung heat, dissolves phlegm & stops cough.
Also for Lung dryness causing cough.
Also for Exterior Wind-Heat causing cough.
Clears Stomach heat, harmonizes the Stomach & stops voming, useful for heat in the Stomach creating thirst.
This herb has mild antibiotic properties.
Distribution: This trees is found often in Central Florida. The fruits are very good to eat also.
Dosage: 10-15g in decoction or 20-25g for strong cough with phlegm
Preparation: remove prickly hairs from the leave prior to cooking by brushing the leaves. This herb can also be processed by frying in honey to enhance its affect on the lungs.
